Why should I chose Kabin?
With 20 years experience in landscaping, eco-builds and building garden rooms we are passionate about making your outdoor space special. Despite the high specification of our builds we are competitively priced and encourage everyone to shop around to compare us on a like for like basis. All our builds are delivered with passion, quality, an eye for the detail and on budget.
Are Kabin buildings suitable for computer and electrical equipment?
Yes absolutely, the majority of our clients are looking for offices so they can get a better work life balance working from home. Due to our construction methods and insulating properties there is little risk of condensation and so the rooms are ideal for computer and media equipment.
What about internet and phone connectivity in my garden room?
We have various solutions to provide internet or phone connectivity to your Kabin depending on your requirements.
Will I need planning permission for my garden room?
Planning permission is not usually required for a Kabin Company Garden Room. You may wish to visit the UK Government’s online planning and building regulations resource: www.planningportal.gov.uk if you live in a conservation area, area of outstanding natural beauty, have existing covenants on your land, or if constructed within the grounds of a listed building.
Do I need to prepare the area?
The Kabin team will cover every aspect of work needed to get your garden room constructed. Our pricing is all-inclusive and therefore includes the groundwork and foundations including power supply. There are no hidden costs.
How secure are these Garden Rooms?
All of our garden rooms can be fitted with insurance approved locks on the doors and all opening windows with lockable catches.
Can I have a bespoke Garden Room to my specifications?
Kabin has a number of standard sizes for our garden rooms, but we relish the opportunity to help you create your own garden room. Please discuss your requirements with us and we will provide you with a layout plan and costings for your approval.
Does Kabin offer a warranty on the garden rooms.
Kabins are built to modern house building standards and we would expect then to last a lifetime of 50 years plus. All the component parts of our studios are covered by the appropriate warranties. Cedar cladding has an expected life of 50yrs plus, rubber roofs carry a 25yr warranty, all our aluminium and uPVC glazing carries a 10yr warranty, our electrical work is certified and compliant to current building regs. SIP panels are a modern way to build houses and have an expected life of 60 yrs plus
How long do Kabin buildings take to complete
As long as the great British weather is not against us the average build time is 7 –10 working days. Obviously, more bespoke projects may take a little longer
What are SIP Panels and why do you use them?
SIPs are Structural Insulated Panels. They are an advanced form of construction that provide a very strong structure with higher levels of insulation and air-tightness so your garden room will be super energy and cost efficient.
Why does Kabin use Triple Glazing in its garden rooms?
All our glazing is high performing, energy efficient and greatly reduces any risk of condensation that can be damaging to a building and its contents. Triple glazing delivers an approx 25% improvement in thermal performance and achieves U values that are better than most homes!
Why do you use Western Red Cedar cladding?
Western Red Cedar is one of the most attractive timbers and also has great insulating qualities. It has a very low coefficient of expansion, which means that even with changing degrees of temperature, and moisture it does not shrink, swell or warp excessively so your garden room will remain looking great for many years to come.
